Whether you want a blog, an ecommerce store, or online academy, we will progress through a series of steps that cover all aspects of the web design process. In this way, you will be assured of a professional site that you love!
1. Where Will Your Site Live?
First, let’s find the perfect name for your new website. Then, I will help you choose the fastest and safest web hosting service. Next, we will discuss the budget for your web design project.
2. What Are Your Goals?
Tell me about yourself and your business. I also want to know your goals for the new site and hear how you want the website to look and feel. Think of three websites you love and why.
3. What Does Your Client Want?
Who is your ideal client? This site is for them. Let’s think about what will appeal to them, what they are looking for, and how we can let them know you are offering what they need.
4. Planning the Architecture
We will create a structure for your site and identify the pages you want, the products or services you’re promoting, the calls to action, and plan the route your client will follow.
5. Visualising the Design
Here we discuss the colours and fonts for your site. We are aiming at site-wide consistency. Show me your logos and the style guidelines you have in mind. We will also plan your photo shoot.
6. Creating the Website
The first draft is about the look and feel of the site: integrating your branding, colours, fonts, and images. When you are 100% happy, I will add the functionality.
7. Inputting the Content
Have you decided what to say? Keep it simple and to the point. Remember less is more. We will bring your site to life with your story and service descriptions, and add your first blog post.
8. Testing and Feedback
Here you get to test drive the site! I will implement changes to fine-tune the site in line with your feedback, until you are 100% happy the site has met your initial expectations.
9. Launch and Training
The new site is ready to be shown to the world and we go live! You will be given training on how to add content and make editorial changes. This includes a Zoom call and a training video.
10. Regular Site Maintenance
Do you want to do your own site maintenance? I will give you a tour of the back-end, the plugins and theme, as well as an overview of site security. If you’d prefer me to maintain it for you, I’d love to.
